Siemens and Munich Hospital Pilot RFID Stuff

Together with Munich’s Klinikum Rechts der Isar [University Hospital on the Right-hand Side of the River Isar], Siemens IT Solutions and Services is actively testing the use of RFID in the operating room, or so we hear.

Word has it the two institutions want to take a closer look at two sample scenarios: RFID tags for marking sponges used during operations and ID tags for the operating team itself. The tests started in March and are scheduled to be completed by the fall. [end]
