“Digital Angel Corp. announced Monday that it is providing 500 proprietary Bio-Thermo (temperature-sensing) implantable RFID microchips to the New York State Department of Agriculture’s Horse Health Assurance Program. The chips will help launch a voluntary state program designed to monitor infectious diseases and prevent animal theft. The Bio-Thermo microchips can be scanned by handheld RFID readers that will be provided by the state’s Department of Agriculture to equine operations that become certified under the New York Horse Health Assurance Program.”
