Alanco awarded Puerto Rican prison project

Thursday, July 17, 2008 in News

Alanco Technologies Inc. has announced that its Alanco/TSI PRISM Inc. subsidiary has been awarded the contract to design an RFID-based inmate tracking system for a prison complex located in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.

The project plan calls for Alanco to design and install its TSI PRISM system in at least one, and potentially two, 500-bed facilities operated by the Puerto Rico Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation in its Bayamon complex. The final determination of the project size will come after the system design is completed, sometime in the second half of 2008.

The contract was awarded by The Weil Group, a security systems consulting firm located in Caguas, Puerto Rico, which is the prime contractor on the Bayamon project. According to an Alanco representative, this is the fourth contract for inmate tracking systems Alanco has won this year. [end]
