PricewaterhouseCooper, MRAL team up in India

Thursday, July 10, 2008 in News

McMaster RFID Application Lab (MRAL), part of Canada’s McMaster University, has teamed up with PricewaterhouseCooper India to explore RFID-related consulting and solutions services in India. The initial agreement between the two organizations will be on a case-by-case basis, with plans to work toward a broader and more detailed memorandum of understanding in the future.

Under the agreement, MRAL will provide its technological expertise in activities such as RFID technology assessment, vendor assessments for RFID hardware, service level agreements from an RFID hardware perspective, and privacy and policy issues involved with RFID usage. PwC India will provide leadership from a more general systems perspective in those areas, as well as advise on sales activities.

The association between MRAL and PricewaterhouseCooper is a response to the growing interest in RFID techonology by organizations in India. RFID technology is already being used in India for such purposes as bus scheduling, mail delivery, medical diagnosis, and banking. [end]
