Exec: Airports will see more biometrics
Securing airports is becoming more difficult and biometrics may be one way to help know who is coming and going, says Thomas Marten, vice president of government and security solutions at the Societe Internationale de Telecommunications Aeronautiques (SITA), an organization that manages more than 600 airports around the world.
Marten told the Khaleej Times that airports should use biometrics and passenger data system to secure the airports. He pointed to the UAE e-Gate card, which requires travelers to swipe their finger at the Dubai International Airport immigration, as an example of what can be used.
