Terso unveils ultra low temperature RFID freezer for health care

Thursday, November 17, 2011

Terso Solutions expanded its line of RFID enclosures with the addition of an ultra low temperature (ULT) freezer designed for industries including research labs, health care providers, manufacturers and distributors and forensic facilities.

RFID technology enables the freezer captures inventory transactions at the item level by user, leading to greater accountability. Each inventory transaction is automatically captured and processed in real-time. Data can be analyzed to track product usage, improve workflows and make better business decisions.

In addition, it makes better use of freezer space with 14.9 cubic feet of storage space and can store products down to -86 degrees Celsius. The freezer also monitors temperature and expiration dates, and can trigger alarms to ensure all items are kept fresh and free of degradation due to age, temperature, or improper storage.

Paired with RFID technology it further reduces manual processes, lowers maintenance costs, and protects high value products such as tissue, biosamples, genetic material, and reagents. [end]
