Intellitix activates 1 million RFID, expands to UK

Monday, November 14, 2011

Intellitix has announced two key appointments and a new UK office to focus on the European festival market in 2012. This comes after Intellitix activated more than 1 million RFID wristbands in North America this summer.

North American festivals included Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, Austin City Limits, Electric Zoo, Moogfest and Le Festival d’été de Québec. The company’s RFID access control systems securely sealed the festival sites, reduced queues, and eliminated fraud, while enduring all types of weather.

Intellitix is a privately owned Canadian company providing RFID technologies specially adapted to operate and manage live events through access control. The Intellitix solution is designed to enhance the “fan’s” experience with new services, while offering new sources of income for the event organizer.

Following success in North America Intellitix has also announced a new UK office to accommodate the 2012 European Festival Season. Steve Jenner, founder of Virtual Festivals who most recently worked as digital director at UK promoter Kilimanjaro Live, is confirmed as vice president, director of Operations, UK and Europe. Also joining Intellitix is Greg Parmley, former editor of live music industry title IQ Magazine, who will oversee global communications in his role as chief information officer. [end]

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival with help from Intellitix, an RFID technology provider for live events, added an online audience of more than 30 million last month when over 30,000 fans registered to “Live Click” around the festival site.
