Tego Inc. announced the addition of the TegoChip 2000 to its product line with optimization for Air Transport Associations (ATA) Spec 2000 part identification.
The TegoChip 2000, 2 kilobit low memory RFID chip is designed for tagging aircraft parts that require only birth record storage and identification. For example, oxygen tanks and life vests need to be accounted for but do not carry the record-intensive maintenance history needs of other aircraft parts.
Tego’s rugged memory architecture enable all TegoChips to reliably hold data for decades in aerospace applications exposed to radar, temperature extremes, and increased radiation levels at altitude. Its EPC limit also supports the new Tag Data Standard 1.6 (TDS 1.6) that GS1 EPC Global approved in September to include new Aerospace and Defense definitions.
With 1536 bits of user memory, TegoChip 2000 supports even the largest aviation birth records using any and all fields allowed by Spec 2000. Its low memory format supports extended EPC codes up to 496 bits without stealing memory from the user space where birth records are stored. ![[end]](/resources/bullet/rfidnews-4.gif)
