Sweden taps TagMaster for monitoring the mainline

Tuesday, September 27, 2011

TagMaster and Swarco Sverige AB together have been awarded a supply contract by the Swedish Transport Administration, Trafikverket, to deliver its ultra-high frequency track-side readers.

The readers will be used to automatically identify both Swedish and international goods wagons as they pass through detection sites on the Swedish mainline rail network.

For this installation TagMaster will supply its XT-3HD long-range RFID reader, the heavy-duty model of the XT-series which is certified for railway applications. The XT-3HD is EPC Gen 2 (ISO 18000-6C) compliant and based on existing TagMaster technology, in addition to a Linux operating platform.

Through a partnership with 7iD Technologies GmbH, TagMaster will also supply the readers with communication software according to the GS1 EPCIS data standards. [end]

Yellowknife Airport (YZF) located in Northwest Territories, Canada is using an integrated RFID solution provided by TagMaster for hands-free shuttle and maintenance vehicle access.

In conjunction with ACTS (Access Control Tracking System) Essential, powered by ArmID, the RFID solution enables YZF to add vehicles and activate tags, deactivate lost or stolen tags, open gates remotely, manage access schedules, and generate reports, all from a Web-enabled interface using any standard Web browser.
