RFID takes to the slopes at Vail Ski Resorts, Colorado

Tuesday, September 6, 2011

Vail Ski Resorts has installed a new RFID-enabled social networking application that helps skiers and snowboards track and share their progress on the Colorado slopes, according to San Francisco Chronicle.

Skiers and snowboarders can earn “pins,” or badges, for completing certain tasks while on the mountain and see who can accumulate the most feet skied. The RFID application enables guests to share their experiences and upload photos to their EpicMix account, which can be shared with Facebook and Twitter.
