Cubic Global Tracking Solutions is providing the U.S. Army with its new wireless mesh network technology to enhance logistics operations and asset visibility for military equipment being taken out of Iraq.
As part of the Army Mobility Asset Tracking System (AMATS), Cubic delivered 2,000 mesh network asset tags at Camp Arifjan Wash Rack, located near Kuwait City, Kuwait. Small, battery-powered tags with GPS receivers are attached to vehicles and connect wirelessly with one another to form a mesh network.
Cubic GTS technology is now helping to track and organize thousands of U.S. military vehicles, including tanks, MRAPS, Humvees, trucks and other vehicles and equipment being redeployed from Iraq as the U.S. draws down its forces.
The precise location of any tag can be determined by searching for its serial number in the Cubic GTS Device Management Center, the central database for all tags in operation. ![[end]](/resources/bullet/rfidnews-4.gif)
