RFID starter kit for parking management

Wednesday, July 13, 2011

DAILY RFID has introduced an RFID starter kit designed specifically for parking management. Compliant with ISO18000-6B or ISO18000-6C Gen2 standard, each RFID starter kit contains the necessary means for identification in parking control.

The RFID starter contains one handheld RFID reader, RFID tags samples, a carrying case and the software demo. This RFID kit is designed to track and manage vehicle in parking areas or gated communities.

The complete RFID parking management solution provides for the hands-free, long-distance, vehicle identification – functional in dense reader environments and a read range of up to 15 meters.

Unlike most parking implementations, a car with an authorized RFID tag can effectively enter and leave the parking lot without having to manually scan the permit. It will also help users view the availability of the parking space remotely, thus time searching the lot will be reduced while parking lot utilization will be improved. [end]

India recently opened its first RFID-based electronic toll collection (ETC) plaza at Chandimandir in Haryana’s Panchkula district.

The technology enables road users to make toll payments without stopping at the plaza and, in turn, reduce traffic congestion and commuting time. With the new electronic system, toll statements can also be obtained online so that users that need a receipt do not have to stop at the toll plaza.
