Ekahau and Nordic ID have developed a solution for adding location information to passive RFID tags and bar code labels when used to track assets such surgical implements, drug supplies and other low-cost inventory.
The combined solution consists of Ekahau RTLS software and Nordic ID Merlin and Morphic handheld RFID and bar code scanners. When paired with Nordic ID, Ekahau’s RTLS is capable of tracking passive RFID and bar code labels, as well as managing, storing and viewing assets and their respective location history in the same database.
Using Ekahau’s business logic, the location and asset information can then be viewed and managed, displaying information on a real-time map. The analytics software also generates asset reports and audit trails, and alert users if any items are low or in the wrong location.
The solution is backed by Ekahau’s RTLS technology which enables users to track assets in real-time using active Wi-Fi tags. With the Ekahau software and Nordic ID handheld, users can walk into a room and press a button on the scanner to audit and put your assets in the database and on the map.
