Maidenform taps CYBRA for item-level tagging

Tuesday, June 21, 2011

Maidenform Brands Inc., a global intimate apparel company, has selected CYBRA as its solutions provider of choice for Maindenform’s RFID item-level EPC tagging initiative.

The Maidenform item-level RFID tagging and validation solution will be deployed across multiple packing stations driven by a central server running CYBRA’s EdgeMagic RFID software. EdgeMagic is already helping support RFID tagging requirements from retailers such as JC Penney, Walmart and Dillard’s.

In addition, CYBRA will supply RFID hardware including readers and antennas from Alien Technology, RFID printers from Zebra Technologies, bar code and RFID scanners from Motorola and bar code scanners from Honeywell.

The CYBRA solution will enable Maidenform to address a wide range of auto-id printing and encoding needs including fabric care labels, carton labels, and other documents in addition to the item-level RFID tags. [end]

Impinj introduced Monza Self-Serialization, a chip-based EPC serialization method supported on ultra-high frequency RFID inlays powered by the Monza 5 tag chip.

Monza Self-Serialization generates a unique Serialized Global Trade Item Number (SGTIN) directly from each tag chip. This chip-based serialization simplifies EPC serial number management, giving retail brand owners the flexibility to decide when, where and how they manage the item-level tagging process across their supply chain.
