Disposable wristband suits temporary needs

Monday, June 20, 2011

It’s disposable, it’s RFID, it’s the latest release from DAILY RFID – the disposable RFID tag designed for temporary events such as concerts and racing events.

Constructed of non-allergenic material, this Gen 2 disposable wristband feels comfortable to the wearer. Read distances for the tags vary based on body type, ranging from a maximum of 5 meters to a minimum of 10 centimeters.

The ultra-high frequency tag is designed to be worn on the wrist and offer a more efficient method to ensure accurate time is capture or for the sake of security that entrance is authorized.

Once the disposable RFID wristband is taken off, it is rendered inoperable due to the one-off design. The disposable RFID tags are suited for racing events, correctional facilities, concert and more to provide automated data capture that increase efficiency and accuracy and reduce human errors. [end]

Skycore LLC has teamed up with Baltimore-based ticketing service provider MissionTix to pilot its new “codeREADr” Android app for validating NFC-enabled access credentials.

MissionTix will offer their venue clients reusable, rechargeable NFC wristbands that can be used to attend multiple ticketed events. Venue staff can read these wristbands by simply tapping them with an NFC-enabled Android 4.0 device equipped with Skycore’s codeREADr app. The app validates the data embedded in the wristband in real-time against an on-device or online database of authorized values, typically managed by a ticketing company or other service provider on behalf of the venue or merchant.
