Texas Tech Univ. taps Radiant RFID for tracking campus wide assets

Friday, June 10, 2011

The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in El Paso, Texas has installed Radiant RFID’s Virtual Asset Tracker (VAT) as part of a campus-wide system to track the physical location of assets.

The center first conducted business with Radiant in 2008 for its Clinical Simulation Lab. This new installation builds upon the previous to increase the overall security of assets, improve audit response, and reduce the time it takes to conduct inventories.

The Radiant Virtual Asset Tracker is a complete solution consisting of RFID tags, readers (Motorola’s MC3090-Z RFID handheld and FX7400 fixed RFID reader), and software designed to track the physical location of assets.

Additional features of Radiant’s VAT include email notifications, online asset transfers, check-in and check-out functionality and a full reporting suite. [end]

Radiant RFID announced that it has partnered with the Texas Department of Public Safety to track more than $1 billion in assets.
