Zetes steps its game up with RFIDEA

Tuesday, June 7, 2011

Zetes, the European provider in automatic identification solutions and services for goods and people, has announced the acquisition of the Belgian company RFIDEA.

Zetes offers a variety of solutions for applications such as manufacturing, transportation and logistics, retail and health care. And by acquiring RFIDEA, Zetes will strengthen its RFID-based offerings, particularly in the pharma industry as that is where RFIDEA’s expertise resides.

RFIDEA’s portfolio consists of organizations including health care providers Baxter and GlaxoSmithKlin (GSK), among others including European banking and financial services provider BNP Paribas.

Together with Baxter, RFIDEA came up with an RFID-based solution for organizing certain trace samples in the organization’s research and development department. A similar fix was installed at GSK to track and monitor pre-filled vaccine syringes made in its Belgium manufacturing facility. [end]
