Awarepoint acquires Patient Care Technology Systems

Awarepoint announced the acquisition of Patient Care Technology Systems. Providing an enterprise real-time solution, the united companies bring together Awarepoint’s ZigBee based technology with PCTS’s workflow software platform and clinical applications.

The merger will bring enhanced interoperable solutions that enable the exchange of RTLS-generated data with health information exchange, electronic health records, clinical decision support systems and RFID applications and technologies to enhance patient care, safety and outcomes.

Awarepoint corporate headquarters will remain in San Diego and PCTS will continue operations at its Charlotte, N.C. office. The majority of PCTS’s staff will also be maintained and Awarepoint’s board of directors will remain unchanged. Financial terms of the deal are not being disclosed. [end]
