ImageFIRST selects Fujitsu and Positek for garment tracking solution

ImageFIRST, provider of laundry services in the health care industry, has selected Fujitsu ultra-high frequency RFID tags and Positek RFID to improve garment identification and tracking at its Clearwater, Fla. facility.

The laundry specialist will utilize Fujitsu WT-A511 ultra-high frequency RFID tags, which will give the company better visibility into its inventory and deliver benefits and costs savings on to its customers.

We found that increased speed and read range enables us to quickly and easily ‘scan-in’ soiled garments into our facility and ‘scan-out’ clean garments in bulk, said J. C. Ryan, general manager of the ImageFIRST franchise in Clearwater, Fla. [end] 

Portable Technology Solutions (PTS) announced the availability of its front end data collection tool, ClearStream RFID, designed for real-time inventory and asset tracking.

Complementing the release, Eplica Services in San Diego, Ca. said it will use ClearStream RFID for security tracking and attendance for thousands of workers entering and exiting remote construction work sites throughout North America.

GAO RFID Asset Tracking announced an ultra-high frequency Gen 2 RFID reader with 4-port read and 4-port listen.

This RFID reader, operating at the frequency range of 902 to 928 MHz, reads Gen 2 compatible transponders at a maximum distance of up to 7 meters or more. It also offers communication interfaces including Ethernet TCP/ IP, DHCP and HTTPS for data exchange.
