TAGSYS, Neopost ID partners for fashion and apparel supply chain

TAGSYS RFID and Neopost ID announced a strategic alliance to provide RFID-based, item-level supply chain and retail tracking solutions for the fashion and apparel industry, according to Supply & Demand Chain.

Under the terms of the agreement, Neopost ID will market and install TAGSYS’ new Fashion Item Tracking Store System (FiTS) for the fashion supply chain in France and other European markets.


Neopost ID and TAGSYS have also developed a joint marketing program for the new offer, including dedicated seminars to address the specific requirements of key stakeholders in the fashion and apparel supply chain. The two companies said they are currently collaborating on a significant traceability solution for their first joint customer.

TAGSYS has deployed RFID systems in the fashion and apparel market for customers like Serge Blanco, Gilbert, Throttleman and Boboli. Neopost ID has deployed RFID and traceability solutions for clients such as Airbus, Sony, METRO Cash & Carry, DHL Supply Chain and Kuehne & Nagel Alloin.

GS1 US announced a new program for apparel retailers, manufacturers and distributors as they roll out large-scale implementations of RFID systems for inventory management.

The GS1 US “Item Level Readiness Program” offers education, training, tools and community facilitation needed to support industry-wide adoption and use of the technology and standards. The roll outs employ GS1 EPC standards, enabling the companies to share data on items as the move through the supply chain - in stores, warehouses, and factories.

SML Group Ltd announced the launch of its new “ViziT” RFID item visibility solutions for the retail apparel and item tracking applications.

The ViziT solutions include a range of RFID/EAS enabled paper and woven labels, as well as tickets and sticker that can be attached to garments and stacked items. Using the SML ViziT IT cloud based data management software also provides for semi automated inventory control, as well as improved loss prevention by triggering alarms and item identification at the store exit.
