Vilant Systems Oy, Swisscom Auto-ID Services AG combines RFID activities

European RFID supplier Vilant Systems Oy and Switzerland’s Swisscom Auto-ID Services AG have agreed to merge their RFID activities.

As part of the deal, Swisscom will sell its stake in Swisscom Auto-ID Services AG to Vilant Systems Oy, following which Swisscom will own a minority stake in Vilant Systems Oy. The Swiss company will operate under Vilant’s brand and therefore the name Swisscom Auto-ID Services AG will change to Vilant Systems AG. [end] 

Zebra and Checkpoint Systems have entered into a cooperative relationship and licensing agreement. While the exact terms of the transaction were not disclosed, the relationship does bring together Zebra’s active location solutions with Checkpoint division OATSystems’ passive RFID, auto-ID and sensor capabilities.
