Murata to exhibit RFID solutions for electronics products at CeBIT

Wednesday, February 9, 2011

At this year’s CeBIT 2011 in Hannover, Germany, Murata will be exhibiting its innovative RFID solutions featuring live demonstrations of the company’s MAGICSTRAP ultra-high frequency tag module.

MAGICSTRAP can be installed as a standard surface-mount technology component and make efficient use of the printed circuit board’s ground plane as an antenna, literally turning the product itself into the RFID tag. The wideband antenna matching circuit embedded into the MAGICSTRAP allows the module to work across all internationally allocated RFID frequencies (860-960MHz), and it also complies with EPC Global Class 1 Gen 2.

The demonstration will show how RFID can be easily integrated into any electronics product by using MAGICSTRAP and showcase its capabilities for printed circuit traceability in a real surface mount devices production environment.

The MAGICSTRAP will be shown as part of a complete system solution including the reader hardware and the necessary middleware required to connect it to an existing IT environment.

CeBIT 2011 will be held on March 1-5 in Hannover, Germany and Murata will be located in the AutoID/RFID Solutions Park on the AIM booth, Hall 7 Stand D10. [end]

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) announced the publication the new 802.15.4f-2012 standard for active RFID and RTLS.

This new standard will enable interoperability between systems and give end users a wider selection of vendors, whereas in the past the choice has been limited to a single source that supplies a proprietary technology platform.
