Tuesday, February 8, 2011

Appiron has announced the release of the ION Location Application along with IONite Asset and Personnel Tags designed to address safety, security and asset utilization for industrial environments such warehousing and distribution centers.

The ION Location Application supports various real-time locating technology systems including Wi-Fi, passive or active RFID, ultra-wideband and satellite all in a single network. Location information from these systems is displayed on a single dashboard with integrated maps and satellite images of a site.

The IONite Asset Tags and IONite Personnel Tags combine passive and active technologies and provide accurate location information in the ION Location Application. ION Location uses a unique user ID stored on the IONite Personnel Tag so that it may track all personnel entering and exiting sensitive areas, vehicle gates or main entry and exit points for increased security.

In addition to location monitoring, IONite Asset Tags also provide temperature data and IONite Personnel Tags can track human biometrics such as heart rate and respiration. [end]
