ODIN acquires Reva Systems, expands RFID portfolio

ODIN announced the acquisition of Reva Systems, a RFID software supplier to organizations including Boeing, Disney Cancer Center, Procure, Sony, HP, Metro and the Universal Postal Union.

Reva’s Tag Acquisition Processor (TAP) software will be added to ODIN’s RFID portfolio and will be rebranded EasyTAP to compliment its existing solutions that include EasyEdge, EasyMonitor, EasyArms, EasyKit and Intelligent Asset Management (I AM).


In addition, Reva’s passive RTLS software solution for healthcare assets and personnel, which leverages passive ultra-high frequency technology, will be added to ODIN’s growing health care RFID portfolio.

The ODIN and Reva combination will offer the intelligence, reliability and scalability that global businesses need. It will also create a platform for partners to develop vertical applications. [end]

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) announced the publication the new 802.15.4f-2012 standard for active RFID and RTLS.

This new standard will enable interoperability between systems and give end users a wider selection of vendors, whereas in the past the choice has been limited to a single source that supplies a proprietary technology platform.
