Innovatum adds Web-based printing, reporting for pharmaceuticals

Tuesday, August 31, 2010

Innovatum Inc., a Sugar Hill, Ga.-baded provider of enterprise compliance software and services, has added label printing and audit log reporting to the growing suite of Web-based modules for its ROBAR Enterprise System, a bar code and RFID label system for designing, reviewing, approving and printing pharmaceutical and medical device labels.

The new modules allow for enterprise-wide deployment in multi-site environments under a single, centrally-managed platform with minimal IT-related overhead.

The Web-based printing module enables production users to print approved labels while merging production-related data from a central ERP or MRP system. It supports more than 1,900 models of bar code and RFID label printers from 65 different manufacturers. The reporting module enables SQL-based reports on all label system activity stored within ROBAR’s system audit log. It can also export reports to Excel for internal distribution and analysis. [end]

The Basque National Health System has launched a neonatal security system designed to monitor and protect new-born infants using RFID technology.

When a pregnant woman is admitted to hospital, she is provided a tag with a unique identification which can be read in all the maternity zones. When the baby is born, an RFID tag specially designed for the new born is fitted to its ankle.
