Revere Security secures spot in DASH7

Friday, August 27, 2010

Revere Security, a wireless encryption solution provider, announced that it will co-chair the newly-formed DASH7 Alliance Security Working Group (SWG).

As the newest member of the DASH7 Alliance, Revere Security will focus on defining standards and interoperable security capabilities, as well as the most effective approaches to suit the varying memory, power and battery life requirements of wireless devices and network systems.

The DASH7 Alliance is a non-profit wireless industry consortium that promotes the use of the ISO 18000-7 (DASH7) standard for wireless sensor networking, which operates in the license-free 433 MHz spectrum and offers multi-kilometer range, multi-year battery life, sensor and security support, and tag-to-tag communications as well as device and application interoperability. [end]

The DASH7 Alliance launched an initiative to create a standardized interface to communicate with DASH7 devices from any application or cloud computing platform.

The DASH7 Network Access (DNA) initiative will allow software vendors to leverage existing code developed for passive RFID readers and expand their capabilities to include DASH7 events. Access to this service will be available free of charge to developers through an open source license in 2011.
