HID Global expands offerings to North American RFID market

HID Global announced it has extended its business to the North American market with RFID tags that support a range of applications and the appointment of David Chose to establish and manage a sales organization focused specifically on the U.S. and Canada.

Chose, has more than 10 years of sales and system implementation experience in the RFID industry at companies including Omron, CCL Label and Texas Instruments. His experience includes low-frequency, high-frequency and ultra-high-frequency RFID technologies, and includes the development and implementation of various asset-tracking solutions for medical, laundry, waste management, industrial automation, logistics and security applications.


HID Global’s new product portfolio includes RFID tags for a wide field of industries and applications, adding several solutions which feature a broadband self resonance frequency from 860 to 960 MHz, which supports North American frequency requirements.

HID’s latest products include the EPCglobal Class 1 Gen 2 UHF On Metal RTI Transponder solution that allows up to 7 meters read range worldwide without any performance reduction, and the InLine 120/52 UHF tag design that combines enhanced size-to-performance ratio with fast, accurate container identification, a 6-meter read range, and rugged design. [end] 

HID Global unveiled the latest addition to its portfolio of RFID tags, with the announcement of the IronTag 176 ultra-high frequency (UHF) transponder.

This durable tag is suited for tracking a variety of metal parts and equipment. Originally designed for tracking aircraft parts during assembly and maintenance, the IronTag endures the harsh conditions of manufacturing and processing as well as vehicle and equipment operation.
