GAO launches new contactless disc tag

GAO RFID has released a new 13.56MHz contactless disc tag designed for asset tracking, anti-counterfeiting applications, factory automation systems, item identification and security systems. The clear, thin tag features a max contactless read/write distance of 12 cm, is ISO 14443 compliant and comes equipped a 1k Mifare chip.

The new tag, model 113415, also features PVC lamination and an adhesive backing that can survive temperatures from -20 to 85C. [end] 

Superdrug, one of Britain’s largest beauty and health retailers, has introduced contactless payment for its in-store customers, according to Retail Gazette.

Created by Streamline and Visa Europe, the contactless system will enable customers to make payments of up to £15 (approx. USD $23) by simply waving their contactless bank card at the more than 50 participating Superdrug stores in London and Liverpool.
