Dafoe Corp. sets things in motion to acquire Agkha Intelli-Tec

Dafoe Corp. has signed a letter of intent to acquire 100% of Agkha Intelli-Tec, a Dubai-based RFID and digital security solutions provider, in exchange for approximately 59% ownership of Dafoe Corp.

Closing of the transaction is expected to occur during the third quarter of 2010, subject to certain closing conditions including completion of due diligence by Dafoe Corp.

Agkha technologies include fraud prevention, check security, electronic airline boarding passes, RFID technology, intelligent parking solutions, SMART video broadcasting and integrated consulting solutions. [end] 

Ramtron International Corp. announced the availability of commercial samples of its F-RAM enabled MaxArias wireless memory devices to enable new mobile data collection capabilities.

The device powers up with energy generated from the radio frequency field and with its EPC Global Class-1 Gen-2 wireless memories (up to 16 KB) end users can store and retrieve information such as manufacturing data, configuration status, repair history and firmware revisions at a distance of up to 10 meters at low power— -13dBm/-13dBm read/write sensitivity.

Goodnow Library of Sudbury, Massachusetts is planning the debut of an enhanced RFID-enabled self-checkout system, according to The MetroWest Daily News.

Using a simple touch screen monitor, library patrons will be able to check out books, CDs and DVDs – up to 10 at a time – without the help from a librarian. Surrounding area libraries that have yet made the leap to RFID are using bar-code self-checkout lanes, which allow patrons to check out books one at a time using the same system that librarians use.

Broadcom has agreed to terms with the board of Innovision Research & Technology PLC to make an offer to acquire all shares of Innovision, a provider of NFC technology. Under the terms of the all-cash offer, Innovision shareholders will receive approximately $0.52 per share in cash, which represents a total equity value of approximately $47.5 million based on current exchange rates. Broadcom expects to close the acquisition of Innovision in the third quarter of 2010.
