Zebra unveils latest ultra-wideband RTLS

Zebra announced the fall 2010 release of Dart ultra-wideband real-time locating system. Built on current Sapphire core capabilities, Dart is designed for applications where long range, multi-read, real-time location is required.

Designed or the extreme, regulated environments such as mining, petrochemical, and other process manufacturing industries, Dart enables fast and accurate location of personnel and equipment, in both indoor and outdoor environments.


Cable of reading thousands of active RFID tags per second, Dart also provides stable temperature performance over a large range and with durable tags enables asset management opportunities without the need for customization.

Dart is also certified for use in hazardous and explosive environments as defined by the ATEX Directive in Europe. [end] 

HID Global unveiled the latest addition to its portfolio of RFID tags, with the announcement of the IronTag 176 ultra-high frequency (UHF) transponder.

This durable tag is suited for tracking a variety of metal parts and equipment. Originally designed for tracking aircraft parts during assembly and maintenance, the IronTag endures the harsh conditions of manufacturing and processing as well as vehicle and equipment operation.

Zebra and Checkpoint Systems have entered into a cooperative relationship and licensing agreement. While the exact terms of the transaction were not disclosed, the relationship does bring together Zebra’s active location solutions with Checkpoint division OATSystems’ passive RFID, auto-ID and sensor capabilities.

Ekahau announced it has joined the Juniper Networks Technology Alliance program as a foundation partner. The Ekahau RTLS system will leverage Juniper’s wireless networks to derive real-time location, status and other information about Ekahau Wi-Fi tags without requiring any proprietary sensors or readers.
