RFID starter kit announced for use in retail industry

Wednesday, July 7, 2010

In collaboration with Gerry Weber, RF-iT Solutions and Pranke GmbH have created a starter package for directly managing stocks using RFID technology in the retail industry.

The detego RFID Starter kit, consisting of the detego SUITE modules Goods Inbound verification, Inventory verification and Electronic Data Interchange, provides a simple and affordable way for retailers to enter into using RFID technology.

Retailers can register all deliveries and the current inventory with a hand-held device and automatically check for completeness. This allows retailers to quickly detect an out of stock situation and handle it immediately.

From this summer on, all items from the lifestyle company Gerry Weber will be equipped with RFID tags. [end]
