B.O.S. tapped for RFID-enabled production line tracking system

Tuesday, July 6, 2010

B.O.S. Better Online Solutions announced the implementation and delivery of an RFID-enabled production line tracking system for Hollandia International, developer of advanced sleep systems.

The system is based on the BOS ID software platform and BOS RFID Server, and includes Gen2 RFID inlays from UPM Raflatac, and Intermec’s CN3 mobile terminals and its IP30 RFID reader.

Now equipped with BOS’ RFID technology, Hollandia’s production plant in Sderot, Israel is able to track the manufacturing of mattresses and sleep systems, from the delivery of raw materials to the final product.

The BOS production line tracking system has also optimized Hollandia’s inventory counting, and links in with Hollandia’s ERP system. [end]

About 37 million higher-frequency RFID and RTLS-enabled asset tracking and asset management tags are expected to ship this year but that’s expected to grow to nearly 150 million by 2014. That equates to a compound annual growth rate from 2010 to 2014 of more than 40%, according to a new study released by ABI Research. Revenues are expected to reach $845 million in four years.
