TagMaster selected for ProRail Gotcha installation

TagMaster has been selected by Lloyds Register Rail to provide RFID systems for the Gotcha Monitoring Systems supplied to ProRail in the Netherlands.

Gotcha is an monitoring platform to measure the quality of various aspects of passing trains. It will provide real-time information about axle loads, load imbalances, the quality of wheels and train speed - providing savings in both infrastructure and rolling stock maintenance costs.


The integrated TagMaster RFID system ensures that the actual measurements are matched with the correct train and wheel pairs as the train passes at full line speeds.

The equipment will be installed during 2010, at 41 locations and will include TagMaster’s LR 6-HD Track Side Readers. [end] 

TagMaster announced it has made enhancements to the TagMaster Security Concept to include secure encrypted TCP/IP communication over ethernet using HTTPS protocol.

The new security relates to the data communication between the RFID reader and external systems, over the ethernet used for communication between readers and host control systems. To enable a higher level of security, the HTTPS protocol as a selectable configuration option in all TagMaster’s long-range Gen4 RFID readers.

Vaughan Public Libraries in Ontario, Ca. are in the final stages of implementing the Fastrac RFID system.

The Fastrac RFID will provide greater convenience to patrons, time savings for the staff and additional security for the library itself. Provided by the partnership between VTLS and mk Sorting Systems, the installation will include several self-checkout kiosks, staff stations, RFID gates, tagging stations, tagging wands and tags.
