Metalcraft reveals universal RFID tags

Tuesday, April 20, 2010

Metalcraft announced the availability two universal RFID tags designed to deliver long read range, regardless of the mounting surface.

The universal Asset Tag and Hard Tag, both small and durable products, feature custom printing of bar codes and other information on the label.

The Asset Tag, with an approximate read range of 15 feet, is a low profile metal mount tag. The inlay adheres to a durable, flexible label with subsurface printing that protects the bar code, logo and other information from harsh chemicals and abrasion.

The Hard Tag has an identical read range, but differs as it features an impact-resistant housing combined with an ultrasonically welded seal that protects the subsurface printed label and RFID inlay. It can withstand heavy impact and harsh environments, such as exposure to UV rays. It will also maintain read capabilities even after resurfacing from submersion in over 20 feet of water. [end]

DAILY RFID released its latest Bluetooth-enabled ultra-high frequency RFID reader, the DL930B.

With a read range of up to eight meters and a fast read rate, the DL930B supports a wide variety of industrial applications, including asset management, baggage handling, container and pallet tracking, item-level inventory management and warehouse logistics.
