Ubisense improves its location-driven visibility

Monday, April 19, 2010

Ubisense announced the launch of its Visible Industrial Process (VIP), a new application that will be added to its Manufacturing Solution Suite.

This new application enables enhanced visibility of production components, processes, assemblies and sub-assemblies across multiple sites.

The Ubisense VIP combines a Web-based user configuration with support for multiple-site operations, and management of multiple-components and multiple tags per component.

It is designed to provide real-time location information and production status on sub-assemblies at the various stages of production, at multiple remote manufacturing sites, even those based in different countries. [end]

AeroScout was recently selected to implement and integrate its Wi-Fi RFID-enabled Work-in-Process (WIP) Visibility solution for a Continental Tire factory in France.

Traditionally, manually locating the large carriers used for material transport was challenging and inefficient, resulting in wasted time and materials. With the AeroScout solution, Continental Tire employees can check where a carrier is located in real-time from a Wi-Fi enabled computer.
