Versus RTLS selected to increase patient flow

Rouge Valley Health System has selected Versus Technology’s real-time locating system to advance efficiency and safety within the new Rouge Valley Ajax and Pickering emergency department. The project comes as a result of the Ontario government selecting Rouge Valley Health System to reduce patient wait times.

The solution will be also support the Ministry of Health and long-term care performance goals, as Ajax and Pickering undergo an expansion to respond to an anticipated increase of 60,000 annual patient visits.


The Versus solution will be deployed in phases, the first of which will be a centrally located electronic whiteboard with patient location and relevant patient information such as overall length of stay, bed assignment, and assigned caregivers.

Using Versus Staff Assist employees will have the ability to signal for assistance by simply pressing a button on their locator badge. Fellow staff members will then be alerted to the call for assistance, along with their location, for a rapid response.

In its second phase, the Versus solution will integrate to and automate Rouge Valley Ajax and Pickering’s chosen Emergency Department Information System.

Health service officials are also considering installing the Versus solution to its other community hospital, Rouge Valley Centenary, starting with Staff Assist in the Mental Health Services areas. [end] 

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute located of Boston has selected Versus Advantages real-time locating system from Versus Technology.

Versus Advantages will be implemented for real-time location of patients, staff and equipment as well as work flow automation throughout the clinics Yawkey Center. Versus Advantages combines rules-based viewing, reporting and automation software with infrared locating and RFID badge status.

Averaging around 80 patients per day, the Northwest Michigan Surgery Center will use the Versus RTLS to relay patient status information to families, as well as to provide automated process flow management for NMSC clinical staff.
