DASH7 gets a new recruit with Sryma Technology

Monday, January 25, 2010

Syrma Technology, manufacturer of custom RFID tag solutions, announced that it has joined the DASH7 Alliance.

The DASH7 Alliance is a newly formed consortium with the shared goals of making wireless devices based on the ISO 18000-7 standard, and making it more accessible to greater numbers of people.

Products with DASH7 capability built-in or attached to them will dramatically simplify the way we keep in touch with the “non-human” world around us, improving the wireless communications capabilities of a wide range of mobile devices.

Syrma’s present RFID product offerings include passive tags and transponders in 125 KHz and 13.56 MHz frequencies. All RFID and tag solutions are produced in a flexible capacity manufacturing model, enabling support of low-volume custom tag requirements to mid / high-volume applications.

The DASH7 Alliance emphasizes on its low-power and scalability, and hopes develop a global network of DASH7 ecosystem partners. [end]

The DASH7 Alliance launched an initiative to create a standardized interface to communicate with DASH7 devices from any application or cloud computing platform.

The DASH7 Network Access (DNA) initiative will allow software vendors to leverage existing code developed for passive RFID readers and expand their capabilities to include DASH7 events. Access to this service will be available free of charge to developers through an open source license in 2011.
