V.A. hospital request Sentry AV for real time alerts

Tuesday, January 19, 2010 in News

Mary Washington Hospital of Fredericksburg, Va. has deployed RadarFind’s real time location system, Sentry AV, as a means of alerting staff when, expensive telemetry devices are headed towards laundry rooms or exits.

Wearable cardiac telemetry devices allow wireless monitoring of patients’ heart rates. However, these devices are small and often misplaced or rolled up in bed linens, mistakenly laundered and destroyed, costing hospitals thousands of dollars.

RadarFind’s Sentry AV solution offer real time monitoring for locating and tracking medical equipment, with active RFID alarm capabilities that can trigger an audio or visual alarm, or both at once depending on hospital user preference.

With Sentry AV, Mary Washington can set an alarm to alert staff via e-mail, pager, or a RadarFind user computer screen, and an audible and visible alert if tagged devices such as telemetry units approach a laundry facility, an exit, or any other exclusion zone, preventing damage or theft of the unit. [end]
