To accommodate to the increasing demand of RFID tracking while maintaining affordability and reliability, International Coding Technologies has released a rugged RFID tag line-up designed for concrete, steel, pallets and other assets, all for under a dollar.

A single inlay with a human readable bar code and RFID tag all rolled into one, the inlay is sealed tight in a durable, water and dust proof plastic unit that can be permanently attached to endure harshest of environments.

The tag is made in three variations, Cast-A-Code for concrete, Pallet Code which comes with adhesive backing or screw holes for attachment, and Steel Code for (you guess it) steel structures. The durable tag can use different RFID inlays from numerous vendors, with the only requirement being that it fit into the current form factor of 4” by 1”.

ICT also offers TrackCon, a mobile computer based system, which uses the data from the tag to provide management with complete product identification, quality control data and production tracking through the entire life cycle of the product, all in real-time. [end]

HID Global unveiled the latest addition to its portfolio of RFID tags, with the announcement of the IronTag 176 ultra-high frequency (UHF) transponder.

This durable tag is suited for tracking a variety of metal parts and equipment. Originally designed for tracking aircraft parts during assembly and maintenance, the IronTag endures the harsh conditions of manufacturing and processing as well as vehicle and equipment operation.
