Identify Ltd. take repitition out of weighbridge procedures

Monday, January 18, 2010

Operations carried out at weighbridges are both tedious and time consuming, with staff repeatedly carrying out the same manual procedures over and over again.

Identify Limited has implemented a solution with one of Thailand’s coal importers in an attempt to streamline and automate this process, while at the same time reduce the amount of human errors.

Each truck is equipped with a RFID tag – and a long range RFID reader is installed proximity to the weighbridge. As the truck approaches the weighbridge, its plate number will be automatically displayed on the weighing program, eliminating the repetitive task of the staff at the weigh station.

Currently the system has been in place at three Thailand weighbridge stations, where there are approximately 200 weighing transactions per day per weighbridge.
