Wednesday, January 13, 2010

ABI Research released results ranking some of the major RFID vendors on their ability to meet the increasing demand for passive-UHF reader form factors and embedded OEM reader module solutions.

Developed by ABI Research, the Embedded Passive UHF RFID Reader Module Vendor Matrix is a tool to provide a better understanding of a vendors’ position in specific markets, assessed on parameters of innovation and implementation.

Scores are based on the rating of each vendor’s innovation and implementation, with an emphasis on size, cost, power efficiency and overall functionality. Vendors receive a rating for each criterion, ranging from zero to nine, and are based on available information and ABI Research’s assumptions.

Vendors’ overall scores are then calculated using of the root mean square method by inputting vendors’ innovation and implementation individual scores.

The overall scores are then ranked and used for comparison.

The results:

  1. ThingMagic
  2. Skyetek
  3. SIRIT Inc
  4. CAEN RFID Srl
