GAO unveils global RFID with battery-assistance

GAO RFID has unveiled a battery-assisted RFID tag, which includes both read and write functionality.

This EPC Class 3 RFID tag, model 136001, is designed for the management of assets, yards and vehicles. The Class 3 reader technology enables the tag to give an instant response when called upon.


The 136001 operates over frequencies ranging from 860MHz to 960MHz, for global use, and has an attractive read range of up to 100 meters. It boasts a memory capacity of 64kbits and provides data rates of 8 kb/s, 32 kb/s or 48kb/s for forward link and 2 kb/s, 8 kb/s or 32k kb/s for backward link.

Additionally, this semi-passive RFID tag has a battery life lasting up to five years. [end]
