Xterprise, Zebra partner to provide tracking solution

Zebra Enterprise Solutions, a division of Zebra Technology Corporation and developer of hardware and software solutions for high-value asset tracking, announced that Xterprise has joined its partner program.

Xterprise has a strong background in creating enterprise-class RFID software applications, and the new partnership should bring enhancements and provide its customers a wider array of technology solutions, such as real-time visibility.


Xterprise has been a partner of Zebra Technologies’ Specialty Printing Group since 2004, and by joining the ZES partner program Xterprise is able to include active RFID and ultra-wideband technologies in its solutions, providing customers with real-time visibility customized to fit their needs.

A solution provider to retail, automotive, manufacturing, financial services, aerospace and defense, and government sectors, Xterprise is planning on leveraging its partnership with ZES to provide more tailored asset- and people-tracking solutions to suit additional industries, including the oil and gas sector. [end] 

Texas Instruments (TI) introduced a pair of encapsulated RFID mini-transponders designed for applications in animal tagging and asset tracking.

The 12mm TRPGR30TGC and TRPGP40TGC mini-transponders were developed to enable users a battery-free solution for embedding RFID tags into smaller objects across a broader range of applications. These transponders come ready-to-use and are 100 percent backwards compatible with all of TI’s RFID software and readers including power modules, control modules and micro readers.

HID Global unveiled the latest addition to its portfolio of RFID tags, with the announcement of the IronTag 176 ultra-high frequency (UHF) transponder.

This durable tag is suited for tracking a variety of metal parts and equipment. Originally designed for tracking aircraft parts during assembly and maintenance, the IronTag endures the harsh conditions of manufacturing and processing as well as vehicle and equipment operation.

Zebra and Checkpoint Systems have entered into a cooperative relationship and licensing agreement. While the exact terms of the transaction were not disclosed, the relationship does bring together Zebra’s active location solutions with Checkpoint division OATSystems’ passive RFID, auto-ID and sensor capabilities.
