EECC certifies Nordic ID's PL3000 Cross Dipole UHF RFID reader

Tuesday, November 24, 2009

The European EPC Competence Center (EECC) has tested and certified the Nordic ID PL3000 Cross Dipole UHF RFID reader in accordance with the RFID handheld performance requirements.

The handheld PL3000 was tested for transmission power, receiver sensitivity, antenna radiation pattern and suitability for daily use. The reader performed well in all categories, achieving the best value ever measured in an EECC test procedure for “receiver sensitivity.”

According to Nordic, the reader is best suited for item level tagging, particularly in the processing of garments or pallet logistics.

The PL3000 runs on Windows Embedded CE 6.0 operating system and features a cross-polarizing antenna that is capable of reading tags horizontally and vertically.

The device can be also equipped with several additional communication options, including GPRS, WLAN, Bluetooth, USB and a bar code reader. [end]

Built on the Nordic ID PL3000-series, the Nordic ID Merlin features the Windows CE 6.0 operating system, which is customizable and does not require the use of a standard interface. Additionally, its software is compatible with the Nordic ID Morphic, as well as the Nordic ID RF-series, allowing for mixed use of devices.
