Alien's test center now GS1 EPC global-certified

Tuesday, November 24, 2009

Alien Technology’s RFID solution center has received a Test Center Accreditation Certificate from GS1, allowing the facility to provide GS1 EPCglobal-certified testing services.

The EPCglobal Performance Test Center Accredition Program assesses the capabilities of testing facilities around the globe. Accredited test centers use a standardized set of performance test profiles to simulate real-world conditions to test the readability of products tagged with EPC/RFID tags, according to EPCglobal.

The goal is to ensure that end users’ tagged shipments can be read before they are sent through the global supply chain.

Alien Technology’s newly accredited solution center, located in the Dayton, Ohio area, is a 23,000 square foot facility designed to accommodate hands-on education and technology testing by using a standard set of test profiles to imitate real-world environments.
