FileTrail Awarded GSA Contract for RFID File Tracking Systems

Wednesday, September 9, 2009 in News

FileTrail has announced that the General Service Administration has awarded FileTrail a five-year contract for its RFID File Tracking Systems.

The GSA is an independent agency of the U.S. government, charged with supplying products and communications for U.S. government offices, among other management tasks.

According to Darrell Mervau, vice p;resident of business development, government agencies using FileTrail will automate their entire file management process, saving time and labor cost.

With FileTrail RFID, users adhere RFID tags to folders or documents to track them as they move from person to person or between offices. As the file moves, the FileTrail system creates an unalterable Web-based log to show the location and history of the file.

If a file should be misplaced or misfiled, the handheld FileTrail FileDetectorTM reader enables users to point and scan a room or office to locate the errant document within an eight-foot radius. [end]
