One of the largest expenses the hospitality industry incurs comes from the theft, destruction or wear and tear of linens. To tackle this problem Linen Technology Tracking has developed linentracker, a new RFID-enabled system for monitoring linens.
The system uses UHF Gen 2 RFID tags that are designed to withstand commercial washing, drying and pressing. The tags are affixed to each piece of linen, which can then be tracked in real time as they move throughout the hotel.
Hotel management can access the information through the linentracker dashboard and record up-to-update inventory counts.
According to Linen Tracking Technology, early assessments have shown that hotels believe the system will improve linen utilization, reduce costs and increase their ability to meet guest satisfaction.
