Car washes enabled for RFID payments

Wednesday, June 17, 2009

Xpres Systems will provide car wash equipment from Ryko Manufacturing with its XpresWash RFID-enabled payment system. The XpresWash system enables customers to purchase unlimited car washes at a fixed price over the course of a predetermined time period, with an RFID-based payment system removing the need for cash or credit cards at the time of the wash.

The system expands upon loyalty-based monthly wash programs which have increased profits for manned car washes, but are difficult to administer at unmanned facilities. Through the use of an RFID-enabled vehicle sticker, the problem of executing this type of program at automated washes - frequently deployed at locations like convenience stores and gas stations - is solved.

According to a statement from Ryko, the XpresWash system will be integrated with Ryko’s Rocket, SoftGloss, Radius, Trio and Select-A-Wash car wash equipment. These product lines cover the major types of car wash equipment on the market, including conveyor, roll over, and activation formats. [end]
