Visonic Technologies releases Elpas 2 system

Tuesday, June 2, 2009

Visonic Technologies (VT), an Israel-based provider of active RFID and RTLS solutions for safety and security applications, has announced the launch of its Elpas 2 system. Elpas 2 offers a fixed infrastructure topology, providing connectivity over wired or wireless networks to enable enterprise-wide detection and processing of RF and IR signals.

The Elpas 2 system is designed to complement solutions deploying VT’s Elpas active RFID tags, which include specialty tags for asset, personnel, and infant protection applications. VT hopes Elpas 2 will encourage a broader adoption of this type of RFID-enabled solution, as it creates a cost-effective method to integrate the solutions into legacy IT infrastructures.

VT is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Visonic Group, an international developer and manufacturer of electronic security systems and components. VT works with customers throughout the world, including the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa and the Pacific Rim. [end]
