Impinj unveils durable packaged RFID tag chips

Wednesday, April 15, 2009 in News

RFID solutions developer Impinj has announced the release of its packaged Monza 3 chips. The chips offer durability in harsh industrial applications and environments; the design of packaged chips enable a highly reliable soldered antenna connection that provide long performance lives.

The packaged Monza 3 chips are designed to fit well in electronics industry applications. Electronics manufacturers have leveraged RFID technology to track inventories and board revision histories, as well as combat counterfeiting and improve recall and customer service programs. Due to the Monza 3 chip’s small size and low profile, the tags can be easily integrated onto printed circuit boards with very little space available.

In addition to enabling sturdy attachment techniques, the Monza 3 chip’s package offers protection against a range of harsh temperatures, frequent temperature cycling, and other physical stresses. [end]
